Bekins of South Florida recently assisted in sending a very special “visitor” back home. Eight years ago, a local retired fire chief purchased Chicago Fire Department Engine Co. No. 10. It is a beautifully restored 1928 Ahrens-Fox 1000 GPM pumper.
The Chicago Fire Department has recently opened a Chicago Fire Department Museum, and he wanted to send Engine 10 back “home” for display at their new Museum. Bekins of South Florida helped make it happen by having Engine 10 back up our ramp, back across our warehouse, and back across our dock into a waiting truck for the trip “home”.
Cameras were clicking everywhere as drivers and warehouse and office staff watched Engine 10 start her trip home. Thanks to everyone for another great job, well done!
