This is Moving. Official Blog: New Look!

This is Moving. Official Blog

In an effort to make Bekins’ official blog a more user-friendly experience, some important and helpful changes have been made to This is Moving.  Because these changes might not be obvious to the unsuspecting eye, it’s worthwhile to take the time to explain these new features and how they benefit you as the reader.

So, what’s new?

Looking at This is Moving’s homepage, you’ll notice four tabs on the top of the page:

  1. Home
  2. Inside Bekins
  3. About Bekins Van Lines
  4. Contact

These tabs are meant to better organize the content that is constantly being published on the blog.  On the home page, you’ll find what you’ve always found and have come to love on the official blog: helpful moving tips, information about services provided by Bekins, and any newsworthy tidbits about the moving industry.

Inside Bekins Tab

The ‘Inside Bekins’ tab is the newest component to the blog Bekins Van Lines logoand what we’re most excited about.  This newest tab is your go-to for information not directly related to the moving industry. You’ll find editorials on cities to travel to, information about interior decorating, guest blogs from other Bekins employees, and much, much more.

Be sure to visit often – the information will be updated frequently.

Ballpark Estimate

The last change on the blog is the addition of the Ballpark Estimate tool.  This handy tool gives you the ability to receive a rough cost estimate on how much your interstate move (a move that crosses state lines) could cost.  It will also allow you to be connected to a Bekins representative who is able to answer all of your moving-related questions.

Stay Tuned

Be sure to check back often. The content is changed several times a week – both with information about moving and other fun articles. Have you checked out our Sunday Spotlights? How about This Is Moving: America? You can find all of these stories and more in the ‘Inside Bekins’ tab.

Bekins Gives Back

Last weekend, Bekins Transfer and Storage, agent for Bekins Van Lines, Inc., held a food drive in their home state of Pennsylvania.  This food drive was a collaborative effort between Move For HungerRedner’s Market and Bekins Transfer and Storage.  The food drive was set up in front of the entrance of local supermarket Redner’s Market giving participants a convenient drop-off point for donations.

Team Effort

“The food drive was really a team effort,” said Dan Malatesta, Moving Consultant at Bekins Transfer and Storage.  “My co-workers helped out by putting up flyers in the local banks and anywhere that had a bulletin.  Also, employees from Render’s were available to help set up the event.”

Results

The rainy weather threatened to put a damper on the food drive.  “We were anticipating the results to be about 3 boxes because of the weather, but we ended up collecting over 20 boxes filled with food. I want to give a special thanks to the Pottstown community for their donations,” Malatesta said.  The 20 boxes of food contained 840 pounds of food, all of which will be donated to local food banks that supply meals to some of the 83,000 needy people in the area.

Move For Hunger

Move For Hunger is a nonprofit that works with relocation companies to help fill the pantries of our nation’s food banks.  Since its inception in 2009, Move For Hunger has collected over 1.4 million pounds of food for food banks across America.  Bekins Van Lines, Inc. is a proud contributing partner of Move For Hunger.

Launch of Bekins Web site unveils new branding efforts

In a move designed to drive more Internet-based sales leads and provide more information and educational opportunities to customers, the van line has redesigned and redeveloped its Bekins Web site. The Web site has a new look as well as a customer-first user interface.

In addition to launching the new Web site, Bekins also unveiled the new branding image for the company. “This is moving.”, the theme of the entire brand, is an effort to build a more recognizable and consistent image for the van line.

“The new Bekins Web site and rebranding effort allows for a whole new customer experience” said Mark Kirschner, the van line’s CEO. “With more user-friendly content and a more cohesive brand, Bekins is able to educate, assist and provide optimum service to our customers like never before.”

The new Web site also has added features, such as the “ballpark estimate” and the “request for estimate,” which enables customers to better interact with the Web site and gain preliminary information about Bekins’ services. Additionally, there are also several moving planning and resource guides to help customers prepare themselves for a move. Links to social media outlets are also present on the homepage so consumers are able to easily access other modes of communication with the company as well.
