My husband and I drove for England Transportation in the late 90’s as a team. We drove on average 8,000 miles a week – back and forth across the country twice a week! Getting off the road, needing new jobs, I found a CDL wanted ad in the newspaper. That is the beginning of my carrier with Olympic/Bekins. I never really drove for the company, but learned the tariff(s) and how it worked from scratch. Within a couple years, became the Office manager of our Olympia location. December 2004 our salesperson, Ken Lawrence, passed away suddenly. Kris O’Bannon needed a sales rep. in the field ASAP – you got it…he wanted me. I wasn’t too keen on the idea, but he said that if I didn’t like it after 3 months, my job was still secure in the office. Now that was about 17 years ago – I never looked back. I love working for people and helping them through a most difficult time of their life.
My husband, Duane, and I were married in 1995 and now live in Spanaway, WA – our 4 children are all grown and gone & we have one amazing granddaughter, Sophia. We enjoy working in our yard in the spring and summer, and our house/yard is spectacular at Christmas with all the lights we put up. We are pet/plant free, so when we want to go and not come back we have the option.
