Move for Hunger, is a national non-profit organization that has created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger, and partnering with the organization is one of the ways Bekins agents give back to their communities.
Every year, Bekins Van Lines agents across the country donate their time and services to delivering nonperishables with Move For Hunger.
While 2020 was a rough year for most, it was especially hard for those that are food-deprived. Bekins helped these individuals by collecting more than 100,000 pounds of food through the Move for Hunger initiative.
Over the 11-year lifetime of Move for Hunger, agents in our network have brought in 3.6 million pounds of food. That’s a lot of food and a lot of meals provided. We’re humbled to think of the lives impacted by the generosity of Bekins agents across the country. Thank you to all those who have helped!
One of Bekins Van Lines’ most giving agents, Brandon Moving & Storage of North Little Rock, Ark., was recently named Move For Hunger’s 2020 Bekins Agent of the Year.
Brandon Moving & Storage brought in a significant amount of food, totaling 70,000 pounds and providing more than 59,000 meals.
“Revenue in any business is important,” said Don Henson, Brandon Moving & Storage’s Partner & Managing Director. “But nothing is more important than service to others.”
